Despite the assault on party founder Abhijeet Dipke during a Jaipur rally

June 16, 2026: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is set to hold a major protest at Nagpur’s Constitution Square on Tuesday at 4 pm, continuing its nationwide campaign on education reforms and alleged examination irregularities. Party founder Abhijeet Dipke announced the event shortly after a rally in Jaipur was disrupted when he was allegedly slapped by a few individuals while heading to the protest venue. Despite the incident, Dipke said the movement would continue and urged students and citizens to join the protest demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Authorities in Nagpur have significantly tightened security ahead of the demonstration. More than 2,000 participants are expected to attend the gathering from Nagpur and nearby districts. Police have deployed senior officers, hundreds of personnel, women constables, and riot-control units around Samvidhan Chowk and adjoining areas. Traffic diversions have also been introduced across key routes, including Variety Chowk, Zero Mile and Sitabuldi. Officials stated that while peaceful protest is permitted, strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to disturb public order.

The enhanced security follows Monday’s controversial incident in Jaipur, where Dipke was allegedly assaulted by members of the crowd. CJP leaders strongly condemned the attack and questioned the adequacy of police protection during the event. Some party leaders alleged political involvement behind the incident, while Dipke maintained that the focus should remain on education reforms and accountability. Police have reportedly detained two youths in connection with the assault as investigations continue.
