AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal accuses the BJP of using Lord Ram’s name for political gains while claiming his party has remained committed to Sanatan values.

July 1, 2026: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday described his party as “true Sanatani” and claimed it has worked with genuine devotion towards Sanatan values. Speaking at a press conference, he alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has used Lord Ram’s name and the Ram temple for political gains during speeches and election campaigns.

Kejriwal further alleged that despite frequently invoking Lord Ram, senior BJP leaders have failed to visit the Ram temple and offer prayers. He claimed that the alleged donation controversy linked to the Ram temple had hurt the sentiments of Sanatan followers and asserted that the BJP would lose power at both the Centre and in Uttar Pradesh. The BJP had not issued an immediate response to these allegations at the time of reporting.

The AAP leader also claimed that there was no public record of one senior BJP leader visiting the Ram temple in the more than two years since its consecration. His remarks come amid an ongoing political debate over the alleged Ram temple donation controversy, which continues to draw attention from political parties, religious leaders and the public.
