After a social media uproar over an alleged answer sheet mix-up, CBSE corrected the error and increased the student’s marks.
May 26, 2026: A CBSE student’s complaint about an alleged answer sheet mix-up has drawn nationwide attention after the board reportedly sent the correct answer sheet to the family following public outrage online. Vedant Srivastava’s brother, Siddhant Srivastava, said the issue came to light after they noticed that the marks awarded were based on another student’s answer sheet.
According to Siddhant, the family raised the matter through emails, social media posts, and media interviews, which eventually prompted a response from CBSE. He said Vedant’s Physics marks have now increased from 65 to 74 after the board shared the correct answer sheet. However, the family still plans to apply for re-evaluation, alleging that several answers were not properly assessed despite being fully written.
The controversy began after Vedant shared details of the alleged answer sheet swap on social media platform X, triggering widespread debate over the CBSE evaluation system. Siddhant also urged CBSE to create a dedicated grievance portal so that students can report such issues directly without depending on public campaigns or viral attention to get their concerns addressed.
