Central Railway has approved revised prices for snacks and meals sold at station catering stalls, with the new rates coming into effect from June 1.

May 27, 2026: Central Railway has announced a revised pricing structure for food items sold at minor static catering stalls across its stations, with the updated rates set to take effect from June 1. Under the new menu, passengers will now have to pay ₹15 for a single 50-gram Aloo Vada, while the accompanying Pav has been separately priced at ₹5. The revised rates are expected to impact thousands of daily commuters and long-distance travellers who regularly purchase snacks and meals at railway stations.

Several popular food items have seen price changes under the revised list issued by the railway administration. Veg Samosa, Veg Puff, and Sabudana Vada will now cost ₹20 each. Among meal options, Pav Bhaji and Veg Pizza have both been priced at ₹50. South Indian dishes have also been included in the revision, with Masala Dosa fixed at ₹35 and a serving of two Idlis with Sambar and Chutney priced at ₹30. However, some items including Misal Pav, Kachori, and Dabeli will continue to be sold at their existing prices.

Alongside the price revision, Central Railway has directed vendors to maintain improved hygiene and food quality standards at station stalls. Authorities have made it mandatory for catering stalls to prominently display bilingual rate lists for passenger convenience. Railway officials also said regular inspections would be conducted to ensure compliance with revised prices, cleanliness standards, and to prevent overcharging complaints at railway stations.
