The Cockroach Janta Party has questioned Delhi Police over a damaged vehicle parked outside its Jantar Mantar protest site

July 23, 2026: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Wednesday questioned Delhi Police over the presence of a heavily damaged vehicle outside its protest site at Jantar Mantar, alleging that the car had been deliberately brought there by the authorities. Sharing a video on X, the party claimed the vehicle was placed near the protest venue and asked police to explain its purpose. However, the CJP did not provide evidence to support its allegation, and Delhi Police had not responded to the claim at the time of reporting.

The party also urged the public to document the vehicle’s condition before any further developments. In its social media posts, the CJP said people should remember that the car was already damaged when it was brought to the site, claiming this would prevent any future attempt to blame peaceful protesters for its condition. The organisation reiterated that it wanted transparency regarding why the vehicle had been parked outside the demonstration area.

Meanwhile, tensions at the protest site increased after internet connectivity was reportedly disrupted in parts of central Delhi, including around Jantar Mantar. Reacting to the development, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke questioned whether the government was preparing for another crackdown on protesters. He also appealed to police and paramilitary personnel deployed at the site to refrain from using force against demonstrators as the student-led agitation entered its second month.
