June 5, 2026: The Delhi High Court on Friday refused to urgently hear a petition seeking directions for crowd-control arrangements at key entry points to Delhi ahead of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest scheduled for Saturday. The plea, filed by the Save India Foundation, was mentioned before a vacation bench of Justices Saurabh Banerjee and Amit Sharma. The petitioner sought immediate intervention, citing concerns about possible disruption due to the planned demonstration, but the court declined to grant an urgent hearing.

The petition requested directions to Delhi Police and other authorities to implement crowd-management measures and maintain law and order during the proposed protest. The demonstration has been called by the Cockroach Janta Party, a youth-driven movement that has gained attention over alleged irregularities in examinations such as NEET, CBSE and CUET. The group has been demanding greater accountability in the education system and action against examination-related controversies.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke announced that he would arrive in India on June 6 and seek permission for a peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar, including a demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The movement has also received support from public figures, including climate activist Sonam Wangchuk. At its recent press conference in Delhi, CJP stated that the protest would remain non-partisan and would be open to students, parents and citizens concerned about education-related issues.
