July 16, 2026: After several days of hot and humid weather, Delhi is expected to receive relief as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast active monsoon conditions from July 16 to July 22. Heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms is likely across several parts of the national capital during this period. However, brief sunny spells between showers may continue to cause high humidity and uncomfortable weather conditions.
The IMD has also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and eastern and western Uttar Pradesh. Very heavy rainfall is expected in Himachal Pradesh from July 19–22, Uttarakhand from July 18–21, and eastern Uttar Pradesh from July 19–21. Residents have been advised to monitor weather updates and remain cautious during periods of intense rainfall.
For July 16, Delhi’s maximum temperature is expected to touch 38°C, with a minimum of 28°C, while July 17 could see temperatures rise to 39°C under partly cloudy skies. Meanwhile, hospitals across Delhi-NCR, including Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad, have reported an increase in cases of viral fever, cough, throat infections, dehydration, and other seasonal illnesses linked to the changing weather.
