June 12, 2026: Kanpur Cyber Crime Police have booked three individuals for allegedly sharing objectionable and misleading content on social media against Aditi Yadav, the daughter of Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav. The FIR was registered on Thursday following a complaint by Parveen Yadav, national secretary of the Samajwadi Party’s Adhivakta Sabha, who alleged that the posts were intended to damage Aditi Yadav’s reputation and malign her family’s image.

According to the complaint, a social media post uploaded on June 9 from an account allegedly operated by Bharat Kumar Patel contained false and fabricated claims along with objectionable remarks about Aditi Yadav. The post reportedly linked her to criminal activities and featured an edited and morphed photograph. The complainant further alleged that Nageshwar Singh Baghel and Vinod Kumar Yadav posted abusive comments in response, amplifying the content online.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Vipin Tada said the case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act. The provisions relate to insulting the dignity of a woman, forgery with intent to harm reputation and misuse of electronic platforms to circulate objectionable material. Cyber Crime Police have launched an investigation and are conducting forensic analysis of the posts to identify the origin of the uploads, the devices used and those responsible.
