July 19, 2026: A 25-year-old former tech professional died by suicide in Hyderabad after leaving her home during the night and later jumping into a pond, police said on Saturday. According to investigators, the woman had been struggling with mental health issues. She had been living with her mother in Peerzadiguda, while her father resided in Visakhapatnam following marital disputes between the couple. The woman had previously worked in Bengaluru before moving to Visakhapatnam.
Police said that on July 17, the woman and her mother visited Miyapur to inspect a double-bedroom apartment they were planning to buy. After returning home later that day, they slept in separate rooms. During the night, the woman allegedly locked her mother’s bedroom from the outside before leaving the house. She then went to a nearby temple and later jumped into a pond, where her body was recovered by police on Saturday morning.
Following a post-mortem examination, the body was handed over to her mother, while her father was informed about the incident. Police said preliminary investigations indicate that the woman had been dealing with mental health issues. A police official also stated that both the deceased and her mother had been experiencing phobias and anxiety-related conditions. Further investigation into the case is underway.
