The Indian Embassy in Thailand has advised medical aspirants to carefully review National Medical Commission guidelines

June 9, 2026: The Indian Embassy on Tuesday issued an advisory for students planning to pursue medical education in Thailand, urging them to carefully review the guidelines laid down by the National Medical Commission (NMC) before applying to any medical programme.

The Embassy advised prospective students to familiarize themselves with the NMC regulations governing foreign medical education and ensure that the courses they choose meet all eligibility requirements prescribed by the commission. Students have been asked to thoroughly examine the NMC advisory before making admission-related decisions.

The Embassy further recommended that applicants verify directly with the concerned university, or seek assistance through the Indian Mission, to confirm that the institution and its medical programme comply with NMC standards. The advisory comes amid increasing interest among Indian students in studying medicine abroad and aims to help them avoid enrolling in programmes that may not meet India’s regulatory requirements.
