Candidates from Congress and BJP secured unopposed victories in Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh

June 11, 2026: Several Congress and BJP candidates were elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan on Thursday. The uncontested victories came after no additional candidates remained in the race following the completion of the nomination withdrawal process.

In Karnataka, Congress nominees, including party president Mallikarjun Kharge, secured Rajya Sabha seats without facing any contest. A BJP candidate from the state was also elected unopposed, ensuring representation for both major parties in the Upper House from Karnataka.

Madhya Pradesh witnessed all three BJP nominees — Tarun Chugh, Rajneesh Agrawal, and Mahesh Kewat — being elected unopposed. In Rajasthan, two BJP candidates and one Congress nominee also won without a contest after no rival candidates remained in the fray, bringing the election process in the three states to a smooth conclusion.
