West Bengal Chief Minister asserts TMC will return to power with a strong majority
April 30, 2026: Mamata Banerjee on Thursday dismissed opinion poll predictions, expressing confidence that the Trinamool Congress will return to power in West Bengal. In a video message, she rejected poll projections and asserted that her party would secure a decisive mandate in the ongoing Assembly elections.
Banerjee said the TMC is expected to win more than 226 seats, projecting a landslide victory. She maintained that opinion polls do not reflect the actual mood of voters and claimed that ground support for her party remains strong across the state.
The Chief Minister added that the final results, to be declared on May 4, will clearly show the people’s verdict. Her remarks come amid intense political speculation following polling, with all eyes now on the counting day outcome.
