Fire tenders rushed to the spot after a massive blaze broke out at Himalayan Cold Storage in Lucknow’s Chinhat area
June 28, 2026: A massive fire broke out at Himalayan Cold Storage in the Chinhat area of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday. Fire department officials rushed multiple fire tenders to the location soon after receiving information about the incident. Firefighters are continuing efforts to control the blaze, while the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
According to local residents, the fire was first noticed by the cold storage’s security guard after thick smoke began rising from the building. The guard immediately informed the owner, who alerted the police through the emergency helpline 112. Police and fire department teams reached the site promptly and launched rescue and firefighting operations.
A local resident said the cold storage was initially used mainly for storing potatoes but currently houses a variety of agricultural produce, including green chillies, pulses, and other food items. Authorities are assessing the damage, and an investigation will be conducted to determine the origin of the fire once the situation is brought under control.
