Investigators are probing alleged links between a Rajasthan-based family, fraudulent medical admissions
May 16, 2026: The investigation into the alleged NEET paper leak case has intensified, with law enforcement agencies focusing on a Rajasthan-based Bival family suspected of being part of a larger examination fraud network. According to sources, several family members have already been arrested, while others — including MBBS students studying in different cities — have reportedly gone underground. Officials believe the network may have links across Jaipur, Dausa, Mumbai and Varanasi, where some accused students were enrolled in government medical colleges.
Investigators are now tracing the whereabouts of the absconding individuals and examining whether medical admissions over previous years were secured through fraudulent means linked to examination irregularities. Sources said three members of the family are already in custody, while agencies continue to scrutinise past admission records, academic histories and institutional data connected to the accused. One of the students under investigation was reportedly preparing for the upcoming NEET examination, raising further concerns about possible continued malpractice.
Authorities are also analysing digital evidence, financial transactions, CCTV footage and communication records to identify links to a broader organised network involving alleged coaching operators, intermediaries and beneficiaries. Officials suspect the case may not be isolated and say further arrests are possible as the investigation progresses. The developments have once again raised serious concerns about the integrity of high-stakes medical entrance examinations and the need for stricter monitoring mechanisms in the NEET system.
