Feared dacoit Jagan Gurjar was allegedly killed by fellow inmate Vishnu inside Ajmer High-Security Jail
June 29, 2026: Notorious Rajasthan dacoit Jagan Gurjar was allegedly murdered inside the high-security jail in Ajmer after an argument with fellow inmate Vishnu, an accused in the high-profile Kuldeep Jaghina murder case. According to preliminary reports, the dispute escalated inside their shared barrack, where Vishnu allegedly attacked Gurjar, leading to his death. The incident has triggered serious concerns over security arrangements inside one of Rajasthan’s most secure prisons.
Jagan Gurjar was considered one of the state’s most feared dacoits and faced multiple criminal charges, including murder, kidnapping, dacoity, and extortion. He had been lodged under the high-risk prisoner category due to his extensive criminal record. Vishnu, who is also facing serious charges in the Kuldeep Jaghina murder case, was being housed in the same jail, which accommodates several hardened criminals and gangsters.
Following the incident, senior prison and police officials rushed to the jail and launched an investigation. Authorities are examining whether the killing stemmed from a personal dispute or was linked to gang rivalry. Investigators are also reviewing possible security lapses inside the prison while gathering evidence to determine the exact sequence of events.
