Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan is currently on the mend following a surgical procedure on April 18. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu visited him at his Jubilee Hills residence in Hyderabad this past Saturday evening to check on his health and recovery progress.
Understanding the Recent Procedure
During the meeting, Pawan Kalyan provided clarity on the health issues that led to his hospitalization. He initially experienced what he believed to be routine sinus discomfort. However, the condition worsened as the infection spread, eventually affecting his eye.
Following medical evaluation, he underwent Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS). While he experienced some minor persistent nasal bleeding post-surgery, he assured supporters that his medical team expects a full resolution of the symptoms within a week or two. He was advised to take seven to ten days of rest before resuming his official duties.
Addressing Long-Term Injuries
Beyond the recent sinus surgery, Pawan Kalyan discussed ongoing health complications stemming from his past career in the film industry. He sustained several injuries while filming action sequences that were never fully treated at the time.
Notably, he is suffering from significant shoulder issues, including a rotator cuff injury, which have worsened due to a lack of consistent medical attention over the years. Doctors have indicated that these legacy injuries are now causing substantial discomfort and may also require future surgical intervention.
Official Response and Recovery Plan
The chief minister expressed his support during the visit, urging his deputy to prioritize his health above all else. He encouraged Kalyan to follow the medical team’s advice strictly to ensure a complete and healthy recovery.
The Jana Sena Party previously noted that the decision to proceed with the initial surgery came after an escalation of symptoms during an administrative meeting. Medical staff performed several tests, including an MRI scan, before determining that immediate surgical action was required. Pawan Kalyan continues to receive care from his personal physicians as he focuses on his recuperation.
