Education reform advocate Sonam Wangchuk arrived in Pune and is expected to join a peaceful demonstration focused on student issues
June 11, 2026: Education reform advocate Sonam Wangchuk has arrived in Pune and is set to participate in a protest highlighting student-related concerns. In a video shared on social media by activist Abhijeet Dipke, Wangchuk confirmed his arrival from Delhi and said he would soon interact with people on important issues. He stated that he looked forward to meeting citizens and discussing matters affecting students and the education system.
Sharing the video, Dipke called on Pune residents to gather at Savitribai Phule Pune University for a peaceful demonstration. He urged students, youth, and supporters to join the protest and raise their voices over issues impacting students. Dipke also reiterated the demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The proposed protest is part of a broader campaign by activists and youth groups seeking justice on education-related issues. With Wangchuk’s participation, organisers expect significant student involvement and wider public attention to the concerns being raised at the university campus.
