US Central Command says Guinea-Bissau-flagged M/T Jalveer was disabled in the Gulf of Oman for allegedly violating restrictions on Iranian oil shipments.

June 11, 2026: The United States has confirmed disabling a third commercial vessel this week near Iranian waters, escalating tensions in the Gulf region. According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), the Guinea-Bissau-flagged tanker M/T Jalveer was targeted in the Gulf of Oman after allegedly violating the American-led blockade on Iranian oil exports. Reports indicate that Indian crew members were onboard the vessel at the time of the incident.

CENTCOM stated that a US aircraft fired two Hellfire missiles into the tanker’s engine room after the ship reportedly ignored repeated instructions from American forces. The vessel was accused of attempting to transport Iranian oil through the Gulf of Oman, making it the latest ship to face action under Washington’s enforcement campaign.

The development follows similar operations against the Palau-flagged tankers M/T Marivex and M/T Settebello earlier this week. Since launching the blockade on April 13, the US claims it has disabled nine vessels, redirected 135 ships that complied with orders, and allowed 42 humanitarian aid vessels to proceed. Washington says the measures are aimed at restricting Iran’s oil trade and apply to vessels of all nationalities operating near Iranian ports.
