Punjab Kings opener Prabhsimran Singh has made an emotional appeal to fans after the franchise slipped into a difficult phase in IPL 2026, suffering four consecutive defeats following a dream start to the season.
Despite beginning their campaign unbeaten in the first seven matches, Punjab Kings have now lost momentum at a crucial stage of the tournament. However, Prabhsimran remains confident that the side can bounce back and still challenge for the title.
In a video shared by the franchise on Instagram ahead of PBKS’ crucial clash against Mumbai Indians in Dharamsala, the 25-year-old batter requested supporters to continue standing behind the team during the rough patch.
“Sat Sri Akal, Sher Squad! I’m speaking to you from Dharamsala. We’ve certainly lost four matches, but we’re still fourth on the table, and we’ll make sure to qualify and lift the trophy,” Prabhsimran said.
“Your support is very important to us. Support us and turn Dharamsala red. The next match is against Mumbai; we have to win it and make a comeback from there. We will lift the trophy. Support us; your support is very much needed,” he added.
Prabhsimran Remains Key Player Despite Dip In Form
Prabhsimran has been one of Punjab Kings’ standout performers this season and has emerged as one of the most promising Indian batters in IPL 2026.
The aggressive opener has scored 382 runs in 11 matches so far and played a major role in PBKS’ strong start to the campaign.
However, his form has dipped in recent outings. Across the last three matches against Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals, he managed scores of 15, 3 and 18 respectively.
Punjab Kings have also struggled collectively during this period, leading to four straight defeats after initially looking like one of the strongest teams in the tournament.
PBKS Still In Playoff Hunt
Despite the losing streak, Punjab Kings remain fourth in the IPL 2026 points table with:
- 6 wins
- 4 defeats
- 1 no-result
However, the playoff race has tightened considerably.
Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals are currently close behind in fifth and sixth place respectively, increasing the pressure on PBKS heading into the final phase of the league stage.
A loss against Mumbai Indians could potentially push Punjab Kings out of the top four altogether, making the Dharamsala clash one of their most important games of the season.
