Tushar Mehta on Monday told the Supreme Court of India that “a divorced daughter is better than a dead daughter” during the hearing of the Twisha Sharma case.
Lawyer Samarth Singh, an NLSIU graduate, is under investigation in connection with the death of his wife Twisha Sharma in Bhopal. While the family alleges harassment and abuse, the defence denies the claims. A court has rejected Singh’s anticipatory bail plea, and police continue their search and investigation.
