Australia Women wins toss, will bat against India in 2nd ODI

In the second ODI of the series, Australia’s captain Alyssa Healy won the toss and chose to bat first against Harmanpreet Kaur’s India on Saturday at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After a disappointing loss to Australia in their previous game, India Women will be looking to even the series. The guests will be aiming to end the series in the interim. Shreyanka Patil played her first ODI for the India Women after receiving the captain’s cap prior to the match.

For the forthcoming match, Kim Garth took Megan Schutt’s place in the Australian squad. However, Smriti Mandhana has been added to the Indian team, taking Shafali Verma’s place in the starting eleven. Saika Ishaque was replaced by Shreyanka in the interim. Hamanpreet stated that although the first ODI match ended with a good score, the bowlers found it difficult due to dew. “I believe we scored well, but the fielding did not live up to my expectations. It is something that we found to be rather ineffective. The bowlers were making every effort to attack the stumps after a while, but fielding was something that I thought was really important today.

With her batting, Pooja brought us back into the game, and we must continue to follow the correct procedures. After the match, Harmanpreet said, “We just need to back ourselves and play that aggressive brand of cricket.” Alyssa Healy (Wk/C), Phoebe Litchfield, Ellyse Perry, Beth Mooney, Tahlia McGrath, Ashleigh Gardner, Annabel Sutherland, Georgia Wareham, Alana King, Kim Garth, and Darcie Brown make up the Australia women’s playing eleven. The following players make up the India Women’s Playing XI: Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh, Sneh Rana, Amanjot Kaur, Pooja Vastrakar, Shreyanka Patil, Renuka Thakur Singh, Yastika Bhatia (Wk), Jemimah Rodrigues, Harmanpreet Kaur (C), and Deepti Sharma.
