BCCI announces release of Request for Proposals: IPL 2024 opening ceremony

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 opening ceremony request for proposals was released on Thursday by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). A statement issued by the league read, “Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announces the release of Request for Proposals for staging the opening ceremony for the Indian Premier League season 2024.” To get the rights and responsibilities to host the IPL opening ceremony this year, the BCCI is inviting offers from reputable organizations.

The ‘Request for Proposal’ (RFP), which will be made available upon receipt of payment of a non-refundable fee of Rs 1,00,000 (Indian Rupees One Lakh Only) plus any applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST), contains the detailed terms and conditions governing the tender process, including eligibility requirements, the process for submitting bids, rights and obligations, etc. This notice’s Annexure A lists the steps involved in obtaining the RFP papers. The release further said that the RFP will be sold till February 2, 2024.

As per the protocol outlined in Annexure A, interested parties are asked to email rfp@bcci.tv with the payment details provided for the purchase of the RFP. It is made clear that access to the RFP papers will only be granted following verification of the non-refundable application fee’s payment. It is necessary for any interested party to acquire the RFP in order to place a bid. Only those who meet the requirements outlined in the RFP and who agree to the additional terms and conditions stated therein, however, will be permitted to submit a bid. It is made clear that obtaining the RFP by itself does not give anyone the right to submit a proposal. The statement further stated that BCCI retains the authority, at any time and for any reason, to halt or modify the bidding process.
