Beyond Burj Khalifa: Unveiling Dubai's Tourists Destinations

Dubai is one of the most popular tourists destinations in the world and holds a special place in the hearts of the Indians too! So let us understand some really interesting pieces of information about this city that never sleeps.

Dubai was a small fishing village that was established in the 18th century. Interestingly, till the 1960’s it was known as hub for Pearl exports, perhaps due to its proximity to the sea. From there-on it slowly became a regional export hub for UAE. Dubai joined the United Arabs Emirates in 1973, with a number of other Emirates, and adopted Dirhams as its currency.

Since then, in the last 50 years Dubai has grown phenomenally as a trade hub and a top tourist destination for the Rich & Famous. It holds a number of records including having the highest building (Burj Khalifa), The Biggest Mall, (Dubai Mall), home to the 2nd largest number of 5-star hotels in the city, largest airport terminal in the world, large man-made islands, golden cars, adventure tourism and more.
