Adani Green Share Price: Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has cemented its status as India’s renewable energy powerhouse, reporting its highest-ever annual greenfield capacity addition for the financial year ending March 31, 2026.
On Monday, April 27, 2026, the company revealed it commissioned a staggering 5.1 GW of new capacity in FY26, a 1.5x increase over the previous year. This expansion has pushed AGEL’s total operational portfolio to 19.3 GW, representing a robust 35% year-on-year growth driven by mega-projects in Gujarat and Rajasthan.
Financial Dominance and Operational Efficiency
The company’s aggressive scaling is reflected in its stellar financial performance. Revenue from power supply jumped 22% to ₹11,602 crore, while core EBITDA rose 23% to ₹10,865 crore. AGEL continues to lead the industry with a phenomenal 91% EBITDA margin, showcasing the efficiency of its large-scale operations. Energy sales also saw a significant uptick, rising 34% to 37,567 million units, supported by the rapid integration of solar and wind assets into the national grid.
Khavda: The Crown Jewel of Global Renewables
A significant portion of the year’s success is attributed to the Khavda renewable energy project in Gujarat. Of the total additions, nearly 3,000 MW of solar and over 1,600 MW of wind and hybrid capacity were commissioned at this flagship site. Khavda is currently being developed as the world’s largest renewable energy plant, with a target capacity of 30 GW by 2029. The site also achieved a global milestone by operationalizing 1,376 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity, one of the largest single-location battery deployments ever recorded.
Commitment to Sustainability and Sovereign-Grade Ratings
Beyond the numbers, AGEL is setting benchmarks in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards. The company secured a CareEdge ESG 1+ rating, the highest in India, and received an inaugural BBB+/Stable rating from the Japan Credit Rating Agency—a score equivalent to India’s sovereign rating. With an operational portfolio now capable of powering over 8.7 million homes and avoiding 36 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, AGEL remains the linchpin in India’s ambitious journey toward net-zero emissions and energy independence.
