Official trailer for “House of the Dragon” Season 2 out

House of the Dragon Season 2 confirms release with an official trailer

The makers of “House of the Dragon,” the prequel series to “Game of Thrones,” have unveiled the official trailer for the second season. The makers used Instagram to share the trailer on their official page, captioning it with the hashtag “SUMMER 2024. #HOTDS2.”

Season 2 of Dragon Wars is expected to feature even more dragon conflict between the armies of Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower—that is, dragon-to-dragon combat, according to US media site Variety. In the teaser, we see Daemon Targaryen gearing up in his amazing armor, troops burned alive, knights on horseback, and several members of the main cast charging into combat on dragons.

“There is no war so hateful to the gods as a war between kin,” Rhaenyra says. But also, “And no war so bloody as a war between dragons,” her aunt Rhaenys Targaryen reminds her. Along with a few new characters, the main cast of “House of the Dragon” is back. Variety lists Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Tom Bennett as Ulf, Vincent Regan as Ser Rickard Thorne, Tom Taylor as Lord Cregan Stark, and Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull as the new prominent players.

From summer 2024, “House of the Dragon” Season 2 will be available for streaming. Derived from George R.R. Martin’s ‘Fire & Blood,’ ‘House of the Dragon’ is set during the height of the Targaryen dynasty, some 200 years before the events of ‘Game of Thrones’ and 172 years before Daenerys Targaryen’s birth. The political unrest that characterized “Game of Thrones” in Season 1 was recaptured after Princess Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) was declared King Viserys I’s (Patty Considine) chosen heir.

Afterwards, Rhaenyra is anointed queen and weds Daemon (Matt Smith), her uncle. According to Variety, Rhaenyra and Daemon get drawn into a struggle for dominance with Rhaenyra’s half-brother, King Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney), which puts Westeros on the verge of civil war.
