If your recent dating matches seem unusually witty, perfectly responsive, or effortlessly charming, there may be a reason beyond natural chemistry. A growing number of Indians are turning to artificial intelligence for help with everything from dating profiles to text conversations.
According to a new study conducted by Gleeden and IPSOS involving 1,500 participants across India, AI has become a surprisingly common companion in the search for love.

The Rise of the AI Wingman
The study found that nearly 63% of Indians have used AI-powered tools as a dating coach. Whether it’s crafting the perfect opening message, improving conversation skills, or suggesting clever replies, AI is increasingly playing a behind-the-scenes role in modern romance.
Around 66% of respondents admitted to using AI to enhance their dating profiles or social media bios, while 61% said they had relied on AI assistance during conversations with potential partners.
In other words, the charming bio that caught your attention or the perfectly timed response that made you smile may have had some help from an algorithm.
Love Advice Has Gone Digital
Seeking relationship advice isn’t a new phenomenon. People have always turned to friends, family members, or online searches for help navigating romance.
What has changed is the availability of AI. Unlike friends who may be asleep or unavailable, AI tools can offer instant suggestions, conversation ideas, and profile improvements at any hour of the day.
For many users, AI has become the modern equivalent of a trusted friend who helps craft the perfect message before hitting send.
The Loneliness Puzzle
Interestingly, the study uncovered a contradiction in modern relationships.
Although 92% of participants said they were satisfied with their romantic lives, 57% also reported experiencing feelings of loneliness.
Experts suggest that while AI can help people communicate more effectively, it cannot replace genuine emotional connection, vulnerability, trust, or real-life chemistry.
A well-written message may spark interest, but meaningful relationships still depend on authentic human interaction.
Authenticity Is Becoming More Valuable
As AI-generated conversations become increasingly common, authenticity may become one of the most sought-after qualities in dating.
Many people are beginning to value spontaneous, imperfect, and genuine communication over polished responses generated by technology.
The study highlights an emerging reality: the easier it becomes to create a flawless online persona, the more people crave signs of real humanity behind the screen.
Privacy Concerns Remain
The survey also revealed that 69% of respondents would feel uncomfortable if someone accessed their AI chat history.
This suggests that many users view their interactions with AI as highly personal spaces where they express insecurities, seek advice, and explore thoughts they might not share publicly.
While AI may help build confidence in dating, it also raises questions about privacy, transparency, and how much of our digital selves we are comfortable sharing.
A New Era of Digital Romance
The growing role of AI in dating reflects a broader shift in how people form connections in the digital age. Technology is no longer just helping people meet—it is actively shaping how they communicate and present themselves.
As AI becomes more deeply integrated into everyday life, the challenge for modern daters may not be finding someone interesting, but figuring out where the algorithm ends and the real person begins.
