Janhvi Kapoor turned heads at the trailer launch of Peddi alongside co-star Ram Charan, serving a glamorous ethnic look that is reigniting the dupatta trend in contemporary fashion.
Styled by celebrity stylist Meagan Concessio, Janhvi embraced a dreamy “desi princess” aesthetic in a custom chiffon saree designed by Manish Malhotra.
A modern saree look with classic drama
The actress wore a sheer blue chiffon saree paired with a textured bandeau blouse, creating an elegant monochrome look. However, the standout element of the outfit was the matching tasselled dupatta layered over the saree — a styling move that has recently re-emerged as a major fashion trend.
The coordinated dupatta added extra movement and drama to the ensemble while giving the traditional silhouette a contemporary red-carpet touch.
Minimal jewellery and soft glam styling
Janhvi completed the look with statement jewellery pieces from Jet Gems and Golecha’s Jewels.
Her makeup was done by Savleen Manchanda, while hairstylist Sourav Roy created soft, flowing hair to complement the ethereal vibe.
Fans online compared Janhvi’s blue ensemble to Princess Jasmine’s iconic look from Aladdin, with many praising the actress for carrying the dramatic drape confidently.
The return of the dupatta trend
The dupatta trend has been gaining momentum globally, especially on recent red carpets. Earlier this year, Alia Bhatt paired a custom pink gown with a matching dupatta at the Cannes Film Festival.
At the 2026 Met Gala, stars like Camila Mendes and Hailey Bieber also embraced scarf-inspired draping styles, signalling a wider fashion comeback for statement drapes and dupattas.
