Celebrity chef Vikas Khanna’s New York restaurant, Bungalow, continues to attract food lovers and high-profile guests from around the world. The latest celebrity to experience its acclaimed menu is Hollywood actor Neil Patrick Harris, best known for playing Barney Stinson in the hit sitcom How I Met Your Mother.
Harris recently visited the restaurant with popular NYC lifestyle influencer Will Damron and a group of friends. Curious to see whether the buzz around the restaurant lived up to expectations, the group sampled nine signature dishes and later ranked them based on taste and overall experience.
The meal began with a complimentary sweet-and-spicy pumpkin soup, followed by the restaurant’s popular Banarasi Puri. Harris praised the dish for its crunchy texture and refreshing flavours, even calling it one of his favourites on the menu.
Another standout starter was the much-talked-about Yoghurt Kebab. The actor enjoyed its contrast of textures, highlighting its crisp exterior and rich, creamy filling that reminded him of cream cheese.
For the main course, the group sampled a variety of dishes, including Five Cheese Kulcha, Pulled Lamb, Lamb Chops, Anarkali Chicken and the restaurant’s signature Spice Roasted Pineapple Curry. Harris was particularly impressed by the Anarkali Chicken, praising its smoky spices, charred flavour and lingering heat. He also described the Spice Roasted Pineapple Curry as “crazy good,” applauding its unique and creative flavour profile.
The dining experience concluded with traditional Indian desserts, including Mango Three Ways and Rose Kulfi.
After the meal, Will Damron shared the group’s official “Power Ranking” of the dishes on social media. The final list showcased the restaurant’s ability to blend traditional Indian flavours with innovative culinary techniques.
