Investigators may re-question key temple trust figures as police continue examining financial records, recovered cash, jewellery, and documents.
June 30, 2026: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged donation theft at the Ayodhya Ram Temple is expected to submit its final report to the Uttar Pradesh government in the first week of July. Before finalising its findings, the SIT is likely to hold a review meeting in Lucknow and may revisit Ayodhya if investigators determine that additional questioning or evidence collection is necessary.
According to sources, the SIT could re-examine key individuals linked to the temple administration, including Champat Rai, Anil Mishra, and Gopal Rao, before closing the investigation. Officials are reviewing statements and evidence gathered during the course of the probe to ensure all aspects of the case are covered.
Meanwhile, the Ayodhya Police is conducting a parallel investigation. During raids at the residences of the accused, police reportedly recovered cash, jewellery, and important documents, all of which are being scrutinised. Investigators have also sought bank account details and locker information of the accused and individuals associated with the temple trust. Police are expected to consolidate the evidence before seeking custody of the accused for further interrogation.
