Police seized the vehicle from south Delhi after its fake Parliament insignia triggered a security alert
June 30, 2026: A black SUV fitted with an allegedly fake Member of Parliament (MP) sticker and flag triggered a security alert in Delhi, leading to a multi-agency investigation before the vehicle was traced and seized from Lado Sarai in south Delhi. The alert was issued after the suspicious vehicle was reported to the Parliament House Control Room, prompting Delhi Police, the Crime Branch, and other security agencies to begin a coordinated search.
According to police sources, the vehicle was first spotted at a restaurant in Murthal, Haryana, on June 21. The SUV displayed a “Parliament of India” parking sticker along with an MP’s flag, prompting a bystander to report the matter. Officials later verified that no authorised Parliament parking sticker had been issued for the vehicle’s registration number, following which an alert was circulated across security agencies.
Investigators traced the SUV to the residence of Pramod Chaudhary in Lado Sarai, where it was allegedly being used by his son, Dev Chaudhary. During questioning, the family failed to produce any documents linking them to a Member of Parliament or authorising the use of the Parliament sticker and flag. Police suspect the fake insignia was being used to gain influence and evade checks. The SUV has been seized, a case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and investigations are underway to determine the origin and possible misuse of the fake Parliament identification.
