Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami says those responsible for the Badrinath Temple theft will face strict action and urges people not to politicise the incident.
July 15, 2026: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday said the Badrinath Temple theft is an extremely serious matter and assured that those responsible would face the strictest legal action. Speaking during the ‘Jan-Jan ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan ke Dwar’ programme in Gopeshwar, Chamoli, Dhami said the government would not allow the incident to be politicised and promised a fair and thorough investigation.
The Chief Minister said the public outreach campaign had received a strong response across the state, with over six lakh people participating in its first phase. He added that more than 60,000 public grievances had been resolved on the spot, describing the initiative as part of the government’s commitment to service, good governance, and public welfare.
Highlighting the state’s development, Dhami said Uttarakhand is focusing on the growth of border villages, tourism, startups, and employment opportunities. He noted that investment proposals worth ₹3.75 lakh crore had been signed, with projects exceeding ₹1 lakh crore already under implementation. He also urged citizens to participate in government outreach camps and welfare programmes to ensure the benefits of development reach every section of society.
