AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal said his children participated in the CJP’s ‘Sansad Chalo’ march

July 21, 2026: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said he was unable to participate in the Cockroach Janata Party’s (CJP) ‘Sansad Chalo’ march but revealed that both his children joined the protest for several hours. Speaking at a press conference, Kejriwal criticised the police action against student demonstrators and alleged that videos on social media showed protesters, including women, being beaten despite offering no resistance.

Kejriwal claimed the police response was unprecedented and accused security personnel of using force against unarmed students. Referring to videos circulating online, he alleged that students were assaulted while pleading with police and that some were beaten even when they were peacefully walking past security personnel. He said such incidents raised serious concerns about the handling of peaceful protests.

His remarks came a day after clashes broke out during the CJP’s ‘Sansad Chalo’ march towards Parliament. Delhi Police used tear gas and batons after protesters allegedly attempted to breach security barricades. While police maintained that demonstrators turned violent, the CJP and several Opposition parties accused security forces of using excessive force during the protest.
