Noida welcomes Pro Kabaddi League after four-year hiatus

After a four-year break and two seasons this year, the UP Yoddhas, representing Uttar Pradesh, returned to their home base in Noida for the Pro Kabaddi League season 10, with Kabaddi emerging victorious in the end. When the Pro Kabaddi League season 10 Noida leg was held at the Noida Indoor Stadium for the first time, a record crowd of Kabaddi fans showed up to celebrate the game’s spirit and watch their favourite teams play. The first four days of the Noida leg, which began on December 29, 2023, and ended on January 3, 2024, saw over 90% occupancy, giving Kabaddi fans in Delhi NCR the best possible start to the New Year.

Sujoy Ganguly, Marketing Head, GMR League Games, commented on the positive start to the UP Yoddhas home leg: “We are amazed at how the fans have turned out in large numbers to celebrate Kabaddi in Noida. This demonstrates how popular and widely recognised the sport is in this region of the nation. We appreciate that our fans have done everything in their power to support their team, and as a team, we look forward to their continued support throughout the upcoming days and the entire season.”

UP Yoddhas defeated Bengaluru Bulls 34–33 to start their home leg on a high note. With the most points (10) in the game, captain Pardeep Narwal led the team from the front. Nevertheless, despite Captain Pardeep Narwal’s outstanding performances, the Yoddhas lost their next two games against Dabang Delhi K.C. and Patna Pirates and are now tenth in the standings with 21 points.
