North India continues to shiver; some flights and trains delayed due to fog

New Delhi: The movement of commuters to and from the National Capital faced disruptions on Saturday morning as low visibility, exacerbated by dipping temperatures in Northern India, led to delays in some flights and trains.

In New Delhi, the minimum temperature recorded on Saturday was 8.5 degrees, with dense fog conditions predicted for January 22 and January 23. The Indian Meteorological Department reported 1100 m visibility at IGI Palam Airport. Although no dense fog was reported during the night, low visibility was recorded in several parts of Northern India, causing inconvenience to passengers.

The IMD predicted dense fog conditions in the National Capital on January 22 and 23, with temperatures ranging between 6 degrees and a maximum of 20 degrees until January 25. SpiceJet airlines informed passengers about potential flight disruptions in Dharmashala and Jammu due to poor visibility.

Additionally, the arrival of nearly two dozen passenger trains to Delhi was delayed by up to 6 hours or more on Friday, and several flights were late due to fog and poor visibility conditions
