During the match, Shashank played a pivotal role, scoring an unbeaten 68 from just 28 deliveries, which included eight sixes and two fours, culminating in a strike rate of 242.86.

In the post-match presentation, Shashank shared insights into his strategy for the game, stating, “When I was in the dug-out, I was just watching the behavior of the pitch, felt it was coming on nicely with good bounce. Just backed myself to hit the other bowlers, was happy to take the singles and doubles off Narine, we wanted to play him out.”

He also acknowledged the support from his teammate Jonny Bairstow, which significantly boosted his confidence. “A big positive when Jonny (Bairstow) supports you (from the other end), he has played 100 Test matches and to see him clap for you, you’ll feel happy and vindicated.”

With a clear focus on the remaining matches, Shashank expressed his belief in PBKS’s ability to make a significant push towards the playoffs. “We still have 5 matches to go, we’ll take it one match at a time and I believe that we can still qualify for the playoffs,” he concluded, emphasizing the team’s determined approach to the remainder of the season.
