The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season continues to witness high-stakes drama off the field as injuries force major roster changes. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have officially signed Delhi’s left-arm pacer Kuldip Yadav as a replacement for Khaleel Ahmed, who has been sidelined due to an injury.

Simultaneously, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have bolstered their bowling attack by roping in experienced English pacer Richard Gleeson to fill the void left by Sri Lankan speedster Nuwan Thushara.

Kuldip Yadav Steps into the CSK Den

Kuldip Yadav joins the defending champions for a base price of ₹30 lakh. The left-arm seamer, who made his IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals back in 2021, brings a fresh domestic edge to the CSK pace battery. With Khaleel Ahmed ruled out of the remainder of the season, Kuldip’s inclusion provides MS Dhoni and the management with a much-needed left-arm variety as they head into the crucial latter half of the tournament.

RCB Banks on Richard Gleeson’s Experience

On the other hand, RCB has invested ₹1.6 crore to secure the services of Richard Gleeson. The England international is a familiar face in the IPL circuit, having previously represented Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians in the 2024 and 2025 seasons. Known for his raw pace and ability to pick up crucial wickets in the T20 format, Gleeson is expected to lead the RCB attack in the absence of the injured Nuwan Thushara. Fans are eager to see if Gleeson’s international pedigree can help turn the tide for the Bengaluru-based franchise.
