The political lobbying over Karnataka's long-pending cabinet expansion has intensified, with a delegation of retired defence personnel, former Olympians and eminent citizens from Kodagu urging Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to induct Virajpet MLA AS Ponnanna into the state cabinet.
Yathindra Siddaramaiah, son of outgoing Karnataka Chief Minister K. Siddaramaiah, is set to be inducted into the new cabinet led by DK Shivakumar. However, speculation about him becoming Deputy Chief Minister has been ruled out.
