Apple could be preparing one of the biggest changes to its iPhone launch strategy in more than a decade. Multiple reports suggest that the standard iPhone 18 may not arrive alongside the Pro models in 2026. Instead, it could launch in spring 2027.
Now, fresh comments from a major Apple supplier have added credibility to those reports.
Apple Supplier Hints at Delayed Product Launch
During the annual shareholders’ meeting of Largan Precision, chairman Lin En-ping revealed that a major U.S. customer had postponed the launch of a new product until the first quarter of 2027.
Although he did not name the customer or product, the statement immediately attracted attention because Largan Precision is Apple’s primary supplier of iPhone camera lenses.
Lin explained that the delay would shift component procurement later into the year and improve factory utilization during the fourth quarter.
Because Apple suppliers rarely discuss future product schedules publicly, even indirectly, the comments have fueled speculation that the delayed product is the standard iPhone 18.
iPhone 18 Lineup Could Arrive in Two Waves
According to industry reports, Apple may divide future iPhone launches into two separate release periods.
