Ukraine has launched a secure digital platform called TrophyLab to share technical information gathered from captured Russian military equipment.

The initiative, announced by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence, aims to help allied governments, defence companies and research institutions study Russian weapons more efficiently. By sharing battlefield findings, Ukraine hopes to speed up the development of new defence technologies and improve military preparedness.

TrophyLab Stores Data on Captured Russian Weapons

Since the start of the full-scale war, Ukrainian soldiers, scientists and military researchers have examined recovered Russian weapons to understand their design, components and technical weaknesses.

The new TrophyLab platform brings all this information together in a single secure database that approved international partners can access.

According to the Ministry of Defence, the database already contains detailed information on more than 115 captured weapon samples across 79 different equipment categories. It also includes findings from over 225 technical studies.

Registered users can access technical blueprints, laboratory test reports and analytical documents explaining how Russian missiles, drones, armoured vehicles and other military systems operate.

Data Collected From Multiple Ukrainian Agencies

The TrophyLab database combines information gathered by several Ukrainian defence and intelligence organisations.

These include the Defence Forces of Ukraine, the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and specialised scientific research institutions.

Officials say bringing together information from multiple agencies creates a more complete technical picture of captured Russian military equipment.

International Partners Can Inspect Physical Equipment

In addition to accessing digital records, approved international partners can apply to examine the actual captured weapons.

Depending on research requirements, inspections may include external examinations, complete dismantling, or destructive testing of equipment.

Ukraine believes this direct access will help defence engineers evaluate their own military systems against real Russian hardware. As a result, new defensive technologies and countermeasures could be developed more quickly.

Strict Security Checks for Access

Access to TrophyLab is limited to verified users.

Governments, research organisations and defence technology companies must submit applications through the official project portal before receiving access.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence will conduct detailed background checks on every applicant. Officials Share the verification process is designed to ensure applicants have no links to Russia and are not subject to international trade sanctions.

Ukraine Aims to Strengthen Defence Cooperation

The launch of TrophyLab reflects Ukraine’s broader effort to deepen defence cooperation with its international allies.

By sharing technical knowledge gained on the battlefield, Ukrainian officials hope to help partner countries better understand Russian military technology while improving future defense capabilities through joint research and innovation.
