RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale said the alleged Ram Temple donation theft has deeply hurt devotees’ faith, urging a transparent SIT investigation
July 3, 2026: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has expressed deep concern over the alleged theft of donations from the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, saying the incident has hurt the faith and sentiments of millions of devotees. RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, in a statement posted on X, described the alleged theft from the Shri Ram Lalla Temple donation boxes as a deeply painful incident that has caused widespread anger among the Hindu community. He said the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust should treat the matter with utmost seriousness and address any shortcomings in the temple’s administration.
Hosabale called for a fair, transparent and time-bound investigation into the case. He said anyone found guilty during the probe must face strict legal action and emphasized that the uncertainty surrounding the incident should end as soon as possible. He expressed confidence that both the temple trust and the government-appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT) would ensure an impartial investigation and restore public trust through greater transparency and accountability.
The RSS leader also alleged that anti-Hindu and anti-national forces were attempting to exploit the incident to defame Hinduism. Urging devotees to remain calm and patient, he said restraint would prevent such elements from succeeding in their alleged agenda. Describing the Ayodhya Ram Temple as a symbol of the sacrifices and devotion of generations of Hindus, Hosabale expressed hope that the Trust would further strengthen public confidence through transparent financial management, efficient administration and adherence to religious values.
