World No. 1 Jannik Sinner has described his successful Wimbledon title defence as one of the most meaningful achievements of his career, saying the victory was especially rewarding after the disappointment of his French Open campaign earlier this season. The Italian tennis star reflected on the emotional significance of the triumph following his victory over Alexander Zverev in the men’s singles final.

Speaking during the post-match press conference, Sinner said every Grand Slam title holds a unique place in a player’s journey, but this Wimbledon victory carried special importance. He admitted that bouncing back after Paris was challenging and credited months of hard work with his team for helping him return stronger on the grass courts of the All England Club.

“We put in a lot of work in Monaco, sacrificing a lot of time to reach this position,” Sinner said, adding that lifting the Wimbledon trophy again made all the effort worthwhile. The reigning champion praised his coaching team and support staff for preparing him mentally and physically for another successful title run.

Sinner also paid tribute to runner-up Alexander Zverev, applauding the German’s continued improvement and competitive spirit. He said having rivals like Zverev constantly raising their level motivates him to improve his own game and maintain the high standards required to stay at the top of men’s tennis.

The 24-year-old also highlighted the depth of talent in the ATP Tour, expressing hope that Carlos Alcaraz returns to competition soon while acknowledging Novak Djokovic’s continued presence on the tour. According to Sinner, the blend of experienced champions and emerging young stars is helping elevate the sport to new heights.

One of the defining aspects of Sinner’s title-winning performance was his exceptional serving. He faced just one break point during the four-set final and credited his success to staying focused on every point. The Italian said he had steadily improved throughout the tournament, particularly in his service games, and was pleased with both his technical and mental progress.

After successfully defending his Wimbledon crown, Sinner said he now plans to enjoy the moment before turning his attention to the remainder of the season. The victory further strengthens his position as the World No. 1 and reinforces his status as one of the leading forces in men’s tennis.
