If you search for Erling Haaland on Google today, you’ll be greeted with a fun surprise.
As the Norwegian striker continues his remarkable run at the FIFA World Cup 2026, Google has introduced a special search Easter egg in his honour. Haaland, who has scored seven goals in five matches during the tournament, is receiving a unique tribute from the search giant.
What Happens When You Search ‘Erling Haaland’?
Typing “Erling Haaland” into Google doesn’t just display the usual search results.
Instead, an animated sequence appears at the bottom of the page, featuring seven characters dressed in traditional Norwegian attire rowing across the screen. The number of characters appears to symbolize Haaland’s seven goals at the World Cup.
The animation is accompanied by a drumbeat that plays whenever users move their cursor across the screen, adding an interactive touch to the celebration.
Haaland Encourages Fans to Try It
The Manchester City and Norway star also shared the feature with his followers on social media.
“One thing to do today… search my name on Google 😉”
The post quickly drew attention from fans eager to experience Google’s latest football-themed Easter egg.
Viral Rap Song Makes a Comeback
Away from football, Haaland has also been making headlines after reviving an old musical project.
The striker recently released a remix of his viral rap track “Kygo jo” alongside Norwegian DJ and music producer Kygo.
Long before becoming one of world football’s most prolific goal scorers with Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City, Haaland briefly explored music. In 2016, while playing for Norwegian club Bryne, he teamed up with fellow Norway youth internationals Erik Botheim and Erik Tobias Sandberg to form a rap group called Flow Kingz.
The trio released “Kygo jo”, which has now enjoyed a resurgence thanks to Norway’s impressive FIFA World Cup campaign. The song has gone viral once again on social media and has amassed 8.9 million views on YouTube.
With Norway reaching the World Cup for the first time in 28 years and Haaland leading the charge, both his performances on the pitch and his off-field moments continue to capture global attention.
