Actress Raveena Tandon has strongly condemned a shocking incident from Coimbatore after a CCTV video allegedly showed a man throwing kerosene-filled bottles at a young woman’s house. The disturbing visuals triggered outrage online, with the actress demanding the strictest punishment for the accused.
Raveena Tandon Condemns The Attack
Reacting to the viral video on Instagram Stories, Raveena expressed anger and concern over women’s safety. Calling the incident horrifying, the actress said that such offenders deserve the harshest possible punishment.
She wrote that men involved in such crimes “should never see sunlight again,” reflecting the outrage many social media users also expressed after the incident surfaced online.
What Happened In Coimbatore?
According to reports, the incident took place in the Thondamuthur area of Coimbatore. The accused, identified as Karthik, allegedly attacked the woman’s house by throwing bottles filled with kerosene after she reportedly stopped communicating with him and ended their relationship.
Fortunately, the woman escaped unharmed. Reports stated that she was inside the house studying when the attack occurred.
Police Investigation Underway
Police have reportedly recovered CCTV footage from the area and launched an investigation into the matter. The complaint was filed by the woman’s father, Sundaramurthy, who works at the Thaliyur Town Panchayat.
According to police sources, the woman and the accused had met while studying at a college in Coimbatore and were previously in a relationship. However, she allegedly ended the relationship after learning about multiple criminal cases registered against him.
Reports claim that more than 31 cases, including serious offences related to murder and robbery, have reportedly been filed against the accused across Tamil Nadu.
Even after the breakup, the accused allegedly continued harassing the woman and pressured her to reconnect with him.

The incident has once again sparked widespread discussions online about women’s safety, obsession-related violence and harassment faced by women even after ending relationships.
