Reports by Al Jazeera claimed the “Yellow Line” in Gaza Strip is increasingly becoming a zone of expanded military control amid continuing conflict.

May 18, 2026: At least eight people were reportedly killed and dozens injured near Gaza’s so-called “Yellow Line” over the past 24 hours, according to reports by Al Jazeera. The report said the demarcation area, initially presented as a ceasefire boundary, has gradually moved deeper into the Gaza Strip, reducing the space available to Palestinians and expanding areas under Israeli military presence.

According to the report, attacks near civilian areas around the zone have become increasingly frequent, with residents allegedly facing strikes and gunfire without warning. Humanitarian concerns have also intensified as displacement pressures continue to grow in Gaza amid ongoing military operations and worsening living conditions.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces reportedly carried out raids across several parts of the West Bank, including areas in Nablus, Bethlehem and Tulkarem. Local reports cited by Al Jazeera said several Palestinians were detained during the operations, while demolition notices were issued for multiple homes. The Israeli military has not yet issued an official response regarding the latest reported incidents.
