Veteran filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has officially shut down widespread media reports claiming that his son, superstar Hrithik Roshan, demanded a staggering ₹500 crore budget for the highly anticipated Krrish 4. He strongly dismissed rumors suggesting that there is financial friction between Hrithik and producer Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films (YRF), insisting that the ambitious superhero project is moving forward smoothly without any internal conflicts.

The speculation caught fire following reports that Hrithik, who is set to make his directorial debut with Krrish 4, wanted an astronomical budget to accommodate cutting-edge, top-tier visual effects and world-class action sequences. Rumors hinted that YRF was trying to keep the commercial viability intact by capping the film’s production costs at ₹350 crore. Addressing these claims head-on, Rakesh Roshan rubbished the narrative, stating that making a quality film catering to a massive global audience naturally takes a great deal of time and careful planning.

The senior filmmaker also cleared the air regarding the delay in bringing Krrish 4 to the shooting floors. He explained that Hrithik is currently completely occupied with commitments tied to his newly launched independent production house. “Krrish (Hrithik) is on another planet right now, and we are all waiting for his dates,” Rakesh joked, while reiterating that the bond and understanding between all creative team members involved in the movie remains completely intact.

Krrish 4 marks a massive milestone for Hrithik Roshan as he prepares to step behind the camera as a director for the very first time. The beloved cinematic universe originally kicked off with the blockbuster Koi… Mil Gaya, introducing audiences to Rohit Mehra and the iconic alien Jadoo, before successfully evolving into India’s premier homegrown superhero franchise. With pre-production still underway and Hrithik’s prior dates locked, the movie is unlikely to begin filming in 2026, with a fresh production timeline expected to drop later.
