President Droupadi Murmu honored 65 distinguished personalities with the Padma Awards during the second civil investiture ceremony held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the Gantantra Mandap in Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.
The prestigious ceremony celebrated individuals who have made remarkable contributions in fields such as sports, cinema, music, literature, public affairs, education, and social service. Among the award recipients were legendary tennis player Vijay Amritraj, celebrated Malayalam actor Mammootty, and renowned playback singer Alka Yagnik. Their achievements over several decades have earned them widespread recognition both in India and internationally.

Padma Vibhushan Presented to Justice K.T. Thomas and P. Narayanan
President Murmu also conferred the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian honour, on former Supreme Court judge Justice K.T. Thomas for his contribution to public affairs.
Meanwhile, veteran Malayalam journalist P. Narayanan received the Padma Vibhushan for his outstanding work in literature and education. His contribution to journalism and education has inspired generations and earned him one of the country’s highest honours.
