According to the ongoing investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT), the accused individuals deliberately selected a specific location along the Parikrama Marg near Janora in Ayodhya to meet in the evenings and distribute the stolen cash.

Investigators have identified several strategic reasons why this particular spot was chosen:

  • Jurisdictional Border Location: The spot falls directly on the boundary separating the Kotwali Nagar and Kotwali Ayodhya police station limits. Proximity to jurisdictional borders is a common tactic used to exploit potential gaps or delays in localized police coordination.
  • Minimal Police Surveillance: Due to its position, the area witnessed relatively low police patrolling and movement, providing a convenient and unmonitored environment for the accused to meet without drawing suspicion.
  • Highway Accessibility: The location is situated close to the Ayodhya Ram Temple highway, offering a quick and easy escape route after the money was divided.

Investigative Recreation and Recoveries

As part of a 13-hour police remand, the main accused, Avinash Shukla, was brought to the Janora site by investigators to formally recreate the sequence of events and map out exactly how the stolen funds were divvied up.

Following the site inspection, the police revisited a local yoga center where Shukla had been residing. The premises remains a focal point of the active investigation after authorities successfully recovered over ₹20 lakh in cash believed to be directly linked to the temple theft.
