Tata Motors has officially rolled out a proper refresh for the Tiago hatchback. The highly anticipated 2026 facelift brings comprehensive cosmetic updates, an entirely overhauled cabin, and significant engineering changes. With prices for the factory-fitted iCNG variants starting from Rs. 5.79 lakh (ex-showroom), the vehicle has officially evolved into a tech-loaded urban commuter.

Bold New Exterior and Advanced Architecture

The most critical upgrade to the 2026 Tata Tiago lies beneath its sheet metal. The updated hatchback is now built on top of the robust X-ALFA architecture, giving it a sturdier body structure and a more planted road presence.

Visually, the front face looks much sharper and aggressive. It sports chunky bumper cladding, redesigned sleek headlamps, and striking new LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). Over to the side, the car gets blacked-out B-pillars and stylish 15-inch alloy wheels wrapped in wider tyres. Despite the styling overhauls, the ground clearance remains practical for Indian roads at 170mm for the petrol version and 168mm for the CNG trim.

Refreshed Cabin Layout and Premium Features

Step inside the 2026 Tiago, and you will notice a massive leap in premium quality. Tata has ditched the capacitive touch panel controls found in some of its other cars like the Punch. Instead, they opted for a plethora of physical button controls that offer a much more tactile and user-friendly experience.

For additional convenience, the iCNG facelift comes equipped with a direct CNG start feature. This clever system allows drivers to turn the key and start the vehicle directly using gas, skipping the traditional need to warm up the engine on petrol first.

Safety Features and Engine Specifications

Tata Motors has pushed hard to elevate safety in the entry-level segment. Consequently, the 2026 Tiago gets a strong suite of active and passive safety tech. Six airbags now come as standard equipment across the lineup. Furthermore, the hatchback features a 360-degree camera setup, a blind-view monitor, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ABS, traction control, torque vectoring, and rollover mitigation.

Mechanically, the Tiago iCNG sticks with its reliable and familiar powertrain. It is driven by a 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol motor. The engine continues to churn out 74bhp of power and 96.5Nm of peak torque when running on gas.

Fortunately, buyers do not have to compromise on luggage capacity. The car utilizes Tata’s patented twin-cylinder implementation. By splitting a large tank into two smaller cylinders and placing them beneath the luggage floor, the design successfully frees up usable boot space instead of entirely consuming it.

Color Options and Variant Pricing

The conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) and CNG iterations of the updated hatchback will be sold across six distinct, vibrant colorways. Buyers can choose between Varanasi Vibrance, SoBo Surge, Pangong Pulse, Pristine White, Pure Grey, and Daytona Grey.

The manual transmission (MT) variants of the 2026 Tata Tiago iCNG are priced competitively across five core trim levels:
