Donald Trump is expected to be joined by some of America’s biggest business leaders during his upcoming visit to China, as Washington looks to strengthen commercial ties and push for major business agreements with Beijing.
According to a report by Bloomberg, the White House has invited Elon Musk and Tim Cook to accompany Trump during the high-profile visit scheduled from May 13 to 15.
The report, citing a White House official, said the delegation will include more than a dozen prominent American executives from major global firms.
Among those expected to join the trip are David Solomon of Goldman Sachs, Stephen Schwarzman of Blackstone, Larry Fink of BlackRock, Jane Fraser of Citigroup and Dina Powell McCormick from Meta.
The visit is being seen as a significant diplomatic and economic engagement between the world’s two largest economies at a time when trade relations and geopolitical tensions remain under close global scrutiny.
Bloomberg reported that Trump hopes the visit will help unlock a series of business deals and purchase agreements with Beijing. The trip is also expected to include discussions with Xi Jinping on economic cooperation and trade opportunities.
Neither the White House nor the companies involved have officially commented on the reported delegation so far. Reuters said the firms did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
China’s state-run news agency Xinhua confirmed that Trump’s state visit will take place between May 13 and May 15.
The inclusion of leading American corporate figures highlights the growing role business diplomacy is expected to play during the visit, particularly in sectors such as technology, finance, manufacturing and global investment.
