The publication names several Western leaders in what it describes as a revenge list

July 12, 2026: A hardline Iranian newspaper has published a so-called “hit list” naming US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu among those it claims should be targeted in revenge for the reported death of Iran’s former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Trump appears at the top of the published list, followed by Netanyahu, drawing international attention.

The list also includes several senior Western leaders, including US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The publication has not provided any evidence or details supporting the inclusion of the names.

There has been no official confirmation that the list reflects the position of the Iranian government or its state institutions. The publication has nevertheless added to concerns over heightened tensions between Iran, the United States and its allies amid the ongoing regional conflict.
